Fashion: Was The 1960's Look Perfect?

BY C STONE | THE SUPER HOT ||| EDITOR IN CHIEF ||| FASHION FLASHBACK

The iconic look of the 1960's fashion can never been forgotten. I adore the looks of the 1960's. The dresses, the pants, and the classic hairstyles. Back in the 1960's, women were starting to come out into their own look with shoes, purses, and other accessories.

And what's not to love? It was a simpler style. You didn't have to worry about nose studs, belly button rings, or outlandish earrings. No. This was a time of simpler fashion. The shoes, the underwear, and yes, the jeans were far simpler.

Back then, models like Twiggy ruled the world, skinny was in, and the mod look ruled. What a time to be alive. Women's rights were starting up, men were slowly getting adopted to the reality of a working woman in the world. And thank God for that.

You can't deny the look. The simpler gloves, high belts, and simple necklaces. Such wow.

Stockings that went up for miles, shoes that were tiny. Complex-patterned throw-on dresses.

Ask yourself: If this cute girl above asked you out, how could you say no? Seriously, so pretty, you have to say yes.

I'm not known to be a man of culture, but by God, the 1960's were an absolute gem of a time to be alive.

It's difficult to find actual vintage clothes, so you're better off buying or creating your own using the 1960's as an inspiration. Why not? Bring the 1960's back!

Do come back. I will have more fashion from other era's for you to review. It will be a remarkable and insightful.

The 2025 Gotham Awards - in it's 35th year, happened on December the 1st. We have a few photos from Essence.com which features interesting styles.

You can't go wrong with classic black. It looks fine. The only point about this look is the very high cut line. Maybe I'm old fashioned.

Bright yellow shoes and dark blue dress. Interesting. I'm not sure if this was the right color.

The most flammable outfit of 2025. Don't get close to lit candles!

Can't say anything bad about the outfit. I think it would look better red.

Really on the fence on this one. The dress is form fitting to be sure - but I can't help seeing they resemble curtains. See? Now you can't not think they are.

Prada Purchases Versace for $1.5 B

BY C STONE | THE SUPER HOT |||| EDITOR IN CHIEF ||| FASHION BUSINESS NEWS

The Prada Group has purchased Versace for $1.5 B, according to multiple news sources.

The company completed the acquisition and hopefully will leave the bespoke brand in place. I've always had a fondness for Versace over Prada, at which I called 'the alt fashion choice'.

via the Washington Post:

As The Washington Post’s then-fashion critic Rachel Tashjian wrote at the time, the move put two of fashion’s most prominent women, who couldn’t have been more different, into direct juxtaposition: “Miuccia Prada, the intellectual matriarch of an old-money fashion behemoth from the chilly, stylish north comes together with Donatella Versace, the up-from-her-bootstraps, pop-culture-obsessed babe of the country’s rough, parochial south.”

Like much of the luxury fashion industry, Versace has seen its sales suffer as a result of the recent downturn in demand. (The “quiet luxury” trend of the last few years, too, has probably hurt the demand for Versace’s loud-and-proud, over-the-top sexy designs.) Versace’s previous parent company, Capri Holdings, put it up for sale in February.

The Prada Group, by contrast, has weathered the shift in demand more successfully, buoyed by sales of Miu Miu’s youthful, playful designs.

Versace joins a robust lineup of luxury brands under the Prada Group, which also owns the footwear brands Church’s and Car Shoe, as well as the sailing team Luna Rossa.

Smoking Hot Zendaya Joins Shrek 5 Cast

BY C STONE | THE SUPER HOT | EDITOR IN CHIEF ||| ENTERTAINMENT NEWS

As confirmed by news sources, model and actress Zendaya was announced as part of the cast for Shrek 5 casting.

She will be joining the voice cast, which is being made by DreamWork's Animation team. Shrek 5 has a release date of June 30, 2027, inline with the summer blockbuster season.

The Shrek franchise has pulled in almost $3 billion dollars worldwide since the initial film in 2001. That film won the first-ever Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

We know her talents will be on full display during the voice acting. We wish her the best.

Welcome to the Meaningless 2025 British Fashion Awards

BY C STONE | THE SUPER HOT || EDITOR IN CHIEF |||| FASHION NEWS

Apparently the 2025 British Fashion Awards are running today. I've snipped about 10 photos from the pagesix report, you can find here.

I hope you enjoy the photos. I don't have the time to go through all 49 of them. And to be honest, do I really want to? No, I do not.

Instead, I'll let the photos tell the story. I mean, some of the outfits are good - but some? Would you really be caught dead wearing some of them?

Someone should make fashion great again. It's been far too long without decisive action. Instead, we get boring repeats.

You can't seriously tell me the woman below is looking great? She looks like a ring wraith from the Lord of the Rings. And I'm sorry if I upset anyone by saying that.

Someone should call them out, wear a shirt that says "Hey, I'd rather be eating a Big Mac sandwich than wearing this crap."

I lived through the nonsense fashion of the 1980's. And let me tell you people: Shoulder pads have no business on any suit.

You can try to wrench that opinion from my cold, dead hands, but I'll die on that hill again and again.

Who in their right mind should listen to me? Nobody. We'll have more in-depth posts starting on Friday. I'm stupid busy at the moment.

Good night.

2025 Le Bal Des Debutantes

BY C STONE | THE SUPER HOT ||| EDITOR IN CHIEF ||| FASHION EVENTS

Welcome dear readers to today's Lunacy and Madness edition. If you've never heard of the Le Bal Des Debutantes, it's a singles event for rich people who want to find a husband or wife.

It all started back in 10th of July, 1958, usually located in Paris. Read more about this even at Wikipedia, because I can't be bothered to write about it.

Don't expect me to be slobbering over these people. If you're attractive and have rich enough parents, but not pretty to be  model - well, this IS the event for you!

Ouch. Having trouble finding a special someone? Can't be bothered or gave up on Tinder? Well look no further! This event is for you - the rich elite, desperate for a mate, HAS to do something, dammit!

I don't see a shred of Versace, Gucci, or even Prada here. Would someone explain to me what the hell the point is at this event. Better yet - did any of these attendees buy their own clothes?

We wont' bother to mention any names, because, quite honestly, I'm far too old for any of those girls. Not interested in men in the even tiniest amount, I get confused when people ask me out to dinner.

So you're young, pissed off, rich, and that vibrator isn't doing it anymore for you. That's why THIS is the event for you. So take that fancy title, buff those shoes, and wear some high-end perfume.

Why isn't anyone smiling anymore? It must feel like you're visiting a prison going to this fancy ball.

One item of contention: There's too much gaudy gold in this room. I never understood the reason to flank so much precious metal on wall accents. Even the U.S. White House has it in the oval office. Too much of a good thing can be a bad look. Fairly soon, the office will start looking like a dollar store.

Everyone is shot alone, except for the group photo. Great. I'm going to guess and say it was a fancy 12-course meal, crappy music, and even more awful guests for the women.

If I was 22, rich, and nice to look at, I would likely head to Florida or the Caymans. That's where you should be. Possibly even Texas.

One dress I actually liked, the pink one with the fancy green medallion. I'm not sure if the fireplaces still work, but all that gold is something.

Unless you're getting married that day, these over-sized and indulgent dresses make you look ridiculous. How the hell do you even fit through doorways?

What's even worse is to wear black. It's not a funeral. There is no reason to wear something so dark and foreboding. Red would be the best color, but almost no one wore it.

Am I old? The brown super-high dress is awful. I'm not sure what the intended look was here.

They ran out of coke in the bathroom, and now we're forced to pose for the camera look.

A fancy tiara and a gown that looks like a wedding dress. Be careful, people will think you're getting married with that look.

Why won't someone notice me? You want to meet someone, but how? Wearing these awful clothes is not going to solve the problem. If it took a lousy ball to arrange people together, it's not going to magically link people up after it. I suspect a lot of fake phone numbers and missed texts.

And when the alcohol fades, and you're left alone the next day stabbing at your eggs benedict, the people you noticed last night look absolutely like rubbish today. You decide to run for it.

If you've made it this far through this nonsense, I applaud you. Do return, I'll have more ripping insight for the so-called wannabe rich "model" elites.
