The world of cheerleading is evolving, with men now taking up the ranks of the previously-only female squads.

Should the squads be broken up in to equally-sized teams for fairness? Men and women? Great question, because I have no idea.

What complicates matters is the tradition of NFL cheerleading and women as the only people on the field. Admittedly, the outdated and somewhat sexist idea that only women should be cheerleading is a legitimate argument.

If you're a heterosexual man who has zero attraction to men, having them on the team shouldn't be an issue. That generous world view doesn't fly very far depending on where you're watching the football game from.

After reading that the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders used to make  pathetic $15 to $20 per hour and $500 per game, I realized the outrageous discrepancy for skill vs. payment. Who in their right mind would work for such a pittance? Fortunately, they are now paid $2,500 per game. But what about the other cheerleaders who still make - quite Frankley - minimum wage?

That should be the real awful knowledge people have to process. Not the fact that men are on the field, but some teams still continue to pay their cheerleaders shit wages for top-notch work.

One wonders when equalization of pay will go across the entire cheerleading spectrum, involving not only the NFL but other professional sports organizations.

Honestly, I couldn't imagine doing that hectic game travel schedule, dealing with your personal life, jobs, and being paid a tiny pathetic amount of money and expected to smile about it?

That is the sad fact of this story.
