Furs Banned in NY Fashion Week 2026

For those that are thirsting for information on New York's 2026 Fashion Week, look no further. Several independent news sources have confirmed that the 2026 New York Fashion week has banned all fur products.

I distinctly remember in the decadent 1980's fur taking a huge spotlight on elite (and expensive) fashion. No longer.
The New York fashion week runs every year from September 11 - 16th, and next year, there will be 0 animal fur products on display.

Will the NYC runway ever be the same without them? I think so. Fur has never been a prominent feature in my clothing choices. And yet, many clothes today - especially winter coats - still have fake fur attached to the garment for decorations.
But that doesn't mean artificial fur won't be used. In fact, I believe it's making a comeback.

If you've ever had the urge to wear shag-carpet inspired clothes, now is the time for you. Given the choice between a crappy polyester-patterned shirt or an outlandish fake fur piece - which would you choose?

Fur has more of an impact than patterns. If you compare the two photos above, it's clear the fur is prettier by a long shot.

And that's why fur is not going down without a fight, and let's be honest: There are plenty of countries in the world that continue to support the production of fur. And it's the sad reality that you cannot deny.

Peace.
